A Small Sampling of the

More than 200 Puppets, Sets, and Props

of Legendary San Diego Puppeteer,

Pamelia McIntire

(1910-2005)

Beloved by generations

of San Diego’s children

for her gentle, whimsical shows that spoke straight

to the heart of childhood.

Beginning her career in puppetry at an age when most people  start to think of retirement (56),

she created more than 40 shows, writing both scripts and music, making the puppets, and performing them (usually solo). In her later years, she walked with 2 canes, but put them down

as the music started and performed seamlessly without their help.

A testament for us all!
